Anti Reverse Cap Analog (ARCA) is a chemically modified cap analogue that is incorporated into mRNA through co-transcription to ensure that the 5' end of the mRNA forms the correct cap structure, which is a necessary condition for ribosome recognition and translation initiation. Its molecular formula is 3'-OMe-m7G(5')ppp(5')G.
Applications
Significantly enhance the translation efficiency of mRNA.
It can resist degradation by nucleases, prolong the half-life and stability of mRNA within the cell, thereby increasing the protein expression level. ARCA prevents the reverse insertion of the cap structure through chemical modification, ensuring maximum translation efficiency.
